commands
checksum
Print the hash of one remote file.
Syntax
Section titled “Syntax”checksum <algorithm> <remote-file>Computes a hash of <remote-file> on the server and prints it followed by
the file name. The file is not downloaded.
Which algorithms work depends on the server. With SFTP the server must
offer hashing, or linscp falls back to a shell session and the usual
command-line tools. Common names are md5, sha-1 and sha-256.
Only a single file is accepted; a directory or a mask that matches several files is an error.
Examples
Section titled “Examples”checksum sha-256 /srv/backups/db.dump
