commands

open

Connect to a server.

Generated from linscp 0.6.1
open [switches] <site>
open [switches] <protocol>://[<user>[:<password>]@]<host>[:<port>][/<path>]

Starts a new session and makes it the active one. Give either the name of a site saved in the Site Manager or a session URL. The protocol is one of sftp, scp, ftp, ftps, ftpes, dav, davs or s3. A path at the end of the URL becomes the starting remote directory.

Switches set or override parts of the login. You can keep several sessions open and move between them with session.

Pin the server’s identity in scripts with -hostkey or -certificate. -hostkey=* accepts any key; it removes the protection against impostor servers, so use it only for tests.

Switch What it does
-privatekey=<file> SSH private key to authenticate with.
-hostkey=<fingerprint> Fingerprint the SSH host key must match (SFTP and SCP).
-clientcert=<file> TLS client certificate file to present (FTPS and WebDAVS).
-certificate=<fingerprint> Fingerprint the server’s TLS certificate must match (FTPS and WebDAVS).
-passphrase=<passphrase> Passphrase for an encrypted private key or client certificate.
-passive=<on/off> Use FTP passive mode (on) or active mode (off).
-implicit Use implicit TLS for FTP.
-explicit Use explicit TLS for FTP.
-timeout=<seconds> Seconds to wait for a server reply before giving up.
-username=<user> User name, used instead of one in the site or URL.
-password=<password> Password, used instead of one in the site or URL.
-rawsettings <name>=<value>... Set any site setting by its raw configuration name. See raw configuration.
-filezilla Take <site> from FileZilla’s site list (~/.config/filezilla/sitemanager.xml) instead of linscp’s.
-newpassword=<password> Change the account password to this value while logging in, when the server supports it.
-passwordsfromfiles Treat the values of -password, -passphrase and -newpassword as paths of files that hold them.
